Our approach to work

  • We’re strongest as a team. A value which is also reflected in our flat hierarchies: The team leader sits together with his/her team at wlw. Short decision-making processes make flexible work possible and give you the freedom to really make a difference. 
  • Mobile working is highly emphasized: Every employee is given their own laptop, with the developer team even being given the choice of a PC or a Mac.
  • In order to keep learning about new developments, all options are made available to our employees so that they can regularly be educated in internal and external training courses and workshops.

Location and office

  • An attractive location at the heart of Hamburg’s downtown in the ABC street: It’s not only nice to work here but there are also a variety of options available to spend your lunch break.
  • Our offices are bright, friendly and modern. All (project) teams sit together and there aren’t many doors, instead there are more glass walls. There are conference rooms and think tanks to hold discussions in and do some thinking. Of course, there’s also a games room equipped with a foosball table and ping-pong table.
  • The place where people meet: There are various types of coffees and teas as well as water and fruit available for everyone in our open-concept kitchen. We know that what the office is to the back office, is the company car for sales colleagues. That’s why we offer first-rate equipment. The company car can of course also be used for private usage. This also applies to company iPhones

Time to chat!

  • Holidays need to be celebrated when they come! Something that we show during our get-togethers and company parties: In addition to our summer and Christmas parties, we also come together for our monthly “Pizza & Beer” evening, organize movie nights, department breakfasts, betting games for the Football World Cup and Bundesliga as well as many more things.
  • In order to always stay up to date, we use our internal newsletter as well as regular company meetings to provide information on current developments and news. Missed a company meeting? No problem. All news is available on our intranet.
  • Our strategy, the company’s priorities, the in-house project road map as well as the company figures are regularly communicated in a transparent manner, so that everybody knows our goals and current projects.
  • Colleagues can talk about projects and swap ideas with Peter F. Schmid during our monthly CEO Lunch


Fit for Life

  • All our employees can work out in “Fitness First” studios at special conditions.
  • We also do sports together: 25 to 30 runners represent us at the yearly MoPo Team Relay Race in the Hamburg City Park.
  • Thanks to a partnership with JobRad, colleagues also have the opportunity to lease the bike of their dreams and save lots of money.
Extraleistungen

Additional service

  • The cost of travel for all back-office colleagues is subsidized. This subsidy can be used towards a HVV Proficard or a parking spot for their car (subject to availability).
  • Lunch in the Axel-Springer canteen located directly opposite the office is also subsidized.
  • Everybody receives capital-accumulation benefits. In addition, company pension schemes are offered as direct insurance.
